Re: October 1, 2025 Salary Increase Implementation for Academic Employees (incl important ASE/GSR reminders)
This is a follow-up to the information provided by Academic Personnel on June 6, 2025 regarding 2025-26 salary increases for academic employees.
In order to ensure that eligible academic employees are ranged correctly, departments must make sure eligible employee job records are accurate and current, i.e., records with job end dates prior to 10/1/25 will not be ranged, and should either be terminated or extended.
Please refer to our Aug 20, 2025 UCPath reminders/updates memo for general details on ASE and GSR hires in preparation for the range adjustment.
In particular, please note these important steps for 4-month ASE Fall hires:
Academic Student Employees paid on a 4-month basis during Fall must:
These hires must be approved and in UCPath no later than September 15, 2025. Starting Sep 16, the AP office will work with UCOP to manually manage the range adjustment for these individuals to ensure they receive the increase on the 10/1 paycheck. If the hire has not been input and fully approved before then, these individuals may not receive the increase on time and may have the increase reflected, retroactively, on their next check.
Summary of range adjustment increases by population:
Effective October 1, 2025, salary increases will be applied at UCSB as follows:
Additional General Implementation Details:
The salary increases will be processed centrally in collaboration with the UCPath Center.
UCPath freezes for impacted employees will take place as follows:
Notes During Freeze Period:
The October 1, 2025 salary scales will be posted to our Compensation and Benefits page soon. For titles that are tracked in AP Folio, salary information will be updated after the payroll update is run.
