Mission Statement

The Office of Academic Personnel is a service organization whose mission is to facilitate the recruitment, promotion, and retention of a high quality, diversified faculty. Academic Personnel provides continuity as well as technical assistance to the faculty and to the Office of the President, Chancellor, Executive Vice Chancellor, Associate Vice Chancellor, Colleges, and departmental staff in developing, analyzing, interpreting and implementing academic personnel policies and procedures.

Goals and Objectives
  • Process academic personnel cases, ensuring that appropriate safeguards and adherence to affirmative action principles, immigration regulations, and other University, state, and federal regulations are maintained.
  • Train campus staff on the Payroll/Personnel System and academic personnel policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a campus resource for academic personnel information.
  • Provide information and make recommendations on the development and implementation of academic personnel policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the campus link to the Office of the President with regard to academic personnel policy issues.
  • Maintain and provide information on the allocation of faculty FTE.
  • Track all faculty recruitment activity, appointment information, and existing faculty provisions.
  • Implement collective bargaining agreements covering academic employees.
  • Provide data management support to colleges and academic departments.
