The Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Academic Personnel has principal responsibility for administration of the
campus academic personnel program, including oversight of academic recruitment, appointments, advancements, and
retention; administration of Code of Faculty Conduct and academic grievance procedures, review of faculty disciplinary
proceedings including research misconduct and conflict of interest; academic liaison for collective bargaining and
contract administration for academic employees; liaison with Academic Senate Committees, including but not limited
to Committees on Academic Personnel, Privilege and Tenure, Academic Freedom, Faculty Welfare, Affirmative Action;
administration of Faculty Housing and Loan Programs; and Emeriti relations. The AVC serves as a key advisor to the
Executive Vice Chancellor on the full range of issues.
